The area consists of three rooms, a dining area, a bar and a lounge area. It was decided that the whole area be called the Member Rooms. The lounge / library area was named the Pretoria Club Lounge and the dining area the Carl Jeppe Room in honour of the founding father of the Pretoria Country Club. Dress Code: Gentlemen - Business casual: Long sleeved shirt with collar, no t-shirts, no shorts, no caps or hats, no torn or frayed clothing, no sport shoes, sandals or slops allowed. Ladies - Business casual: Dress or slack suit is the acceptable dress. Therefore no shorts, no t-shirts, no caps or hats, no torn or frayed clothing, no sport shoes or slops. Members and their guests are required to be neat at all times. For our members and their guests the enjoyment of the facilities is of paramount importance to the committee and management. They accordingly reserve the right to decide whether dress is appropriate or not. Restricted use: These rooms are for the use of Pretoria Country Club members only. Members will be allowed to invite guests on the condition that they sign the visitor’s book upon arrival. Visitors will not be allowed to pay for any bill, be that food or beverage. Members will be required to produce their membership cards upon paying for any bill. The use of the facilities of the Carl Jeppe Room and bar for private functions will only be available to members, and subject to the condition that the member himself is responsible for the payment of all bills. The Pretoria Club Lounge cannot be booked for any private function. Operating hours: The rooms will be open to members from 07h00 to 19h00 Tuesday to Saturday, and on Sunday the rooms will be closed at 17h00. The reception staff will be responsible for the opening and closing of the rooms. Regular functions / meetings: The following meetings will be held in the rooms on a regular monthly basis:
Pretoria Club Lounge: This area will be a smoking area. Extractor fans and an air-conditioning unit have been installed for this purpose. Library: The Pretoria Club Section will be responsible for managing the library. Bookings: The bookings for the Carl Jeppe Room must be done through the offices of the Club Secretary, who will relay the booking to the caterers if meals are required. Members booking the Carl Jeppe Room for a private function will be required to supply their membership number when making the reservation. A Surcharge of R15.00 a head will be payable when booking the Carl Jeppe Room for a private function. |
